CHILDREN’S SPORTS ORANIENBURG – GIVE YOUR CHILD THE BEST DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE WORLD!
To aid early childhood development (ECD), sport and movement are a must. The opportunity to develop in a team with like-minded people, and to master a wide variety of hurdles and tasks together is worth its weight in gold. As part of Raptor Minis they grow into the necessary assertiveness to become strong and self-confident children, teenagers and finally adults. Of course, our Mini Raptors already come into contact with the trusty oval ball. We’d never send our three-year-old club members onto the rugby pitch to compete against each other without first instilling the necessary ball skills.
In Raptor Minis, it’s more about developing their motor skills, movement in general and orientation on the playing field. This is where your child learns what it's like to overcome initial hurdles in a team. Celebrating small successes together leads to feeling like an integral part of a community. In the process, some of our Mini Raptors already make their first friendships for life.
We already have about 30 children currently playing in the Oranien Raptors Rugby Minis age group. As they get older, we introduce the little ones to the sport in more detail. Not only do they build up stamina in the process – they also progressively improve over a wide range of motor skills.
DID YOU KNOW? SPORT IS MORE THAN JUST A GOOD HOBBY FOR CHILDREN
There are many reasons why pediatricians consistently recommend that their young and older patients take part in sports - and preferably in a club. After all, sport at a young age strengthens the cardiovascular system and provides lifetime advantages when it comes to potential problems such as cardiovascular diseases (heart attacks, etc.) in later life.
Children who are more active are also less likely to become overweight, let alone obese. Simple regular playful exercise once or twice a week stimulates the metabolism, helps to burn fat and as a result helps to maintain the child’s body weight at a healthy level, in pace with development. In addition, all-over blood circulation is improved. The brain has access to more oxygen. More nutrients and oxygen reach the important organs in the body.
Sweating and increased breathing during exercise also detoxify the body continuously and regularly. The fact that exercise provides a real boost for the immune system is an additional plus on the long list of positive effects of exercise.
WHY CHOOSE RUGBY MINIS?
Children’s sport is popular. If there’s anything the two years of the Corona pandemic have taught us, its the painful awareness that something is missing if the little ones can't get enough exercise. The question remains, why choose the Mini Raptors? We think it’s simple. Rugby is a sport that offers all ages an optimal, active full-body workout. In addition, the teamwork in rugby instils into your child characteristics and skills, which will benefit your little one throughout his or her entire life.
First, of course, there's assertiveness. But there’s also that tenacity and toughness, and the ability to face and conquer resistance. Tactical thinking and the ability to work together in a team to achieve a goal are also very important here. In general, the team concept is very distinct in rugby – as, by the way, is the idea of fairness. Even though rugby is a fairly physical sport, there is hardly any foul play or unfair action in the game. Another benefit of playing rugby is the strong emphasis on respect. Respect not only for the opponent, but above all, respect learnt for the referee as a person with responsibility. The criticism faced by soccer referees for example, would never be entertained by rugby referees. They may not be contradicted or have their decision disputed.
The Raptors’ rugby field is where your child learns to deal with situations and setbacks that he or she cannot influence - such as a possibly incorrect referee decision - in a relaxed manner and without getting too upset. Learning to accept and deal with frustration is a quality that carries through to make life much easier for your child as an adult.
